Germany, officially The Federal Republic of Germany, is a federal parliamentary republic in western central Europe. Berlin is the capital and also is the largest city in Germany. The country has three levels of government in which the responsibilities, roles and power are distributed accordingly and they are federal, states, and local.
The federal government is the combination of federal assembly and federal council, which have responsibilities and powers in areas such as taxation, national laws. Major industries are tourism, IT, automotive, healthcare, and beer. Some of the major players include BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, SAP, Siemens, Adidas, Porsche, and Alliance. Germany has the world's fourth-largest economy by nominal GDP and the fifth-largest by purchasing power parity. As a global leader in several industrial and technological sectors, it is the second-largest exporter and third-largest importer of goods. It is a developed country with a very high standard of living, featuring comprehensive social security that includes the world's oldest universal health care system. Germany is a great power in regional and global affairs, and is a member of the United Nations, NATO, the G8, the G20, the OECD and the Council of Europe. According to OECD, about 77% of the top 20% of the adult population in Germany rated their health as ‘good’ or ‘very good’, and the average net adjusted disposable income of the top 20% of the population is an estimated $53,978/ annum, whereas the bottom 20% live on an estimated $12 544/ annum.
