This resulted in Lebanon government’s net lending / borrowing negative at LBP 3373 billion in 2020 indicating that not enough financial resources were made available by the Lebanon government to boost economic growth.
The current account balance for Lebanon was negative USD 3.876 billion for the year 2021. It further increased at a CAGR of 29.85% and reach negative USD 2.985 billion in 2021. This negative current account balance indicates that Lebanon remained a net borrower from rest of the world in 2021.
