Petroleum crude oil, petroleum refined oils, petroleum gases, gold, diamonds, travel and tourism, insurance & finance, transport, machinery, metals, minerals, automotive, electrical goods, electronics and textiles are major industries of United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In 2020, minerals industry exports were valued at USD 222 billion for United Arab Emirates (UAE). Electronics export accounted for USD 16.3 billion, machinery for USD 12.3 billion, vehicles for USD 9.88 billion, chemicals for USD 14.5 billion, metals for USD 12.7 billion, stones for USD 41.1 billion, textiles for USD 3.76 billion and agriculture for USD 14.1 billion in 2020.
United Arab Emirates, abbreviated as UAE, is a country located in the southeast end of the Arabian Peninsula on the Persian Gulf, bordering Oman to the east and Saudi Arabia to the south, as well as sharing sea borders with UAE, Iran and Pakistan.
UAE is estimated to have population of 10.755 million in the year 2023 and expected to reach 11.414 million by 2027, increasing at a CAGR of 1.5%.
UAE’s real gross domestic product (GDP) was AED 1439.048 billion in 2020 and while recovering from the COVID-19 impact it increased by 3.66% to be around AED 1493.732 billion in 2021. It is further expected to increase by a CAGR of 4.21% and reach AED 1913.234 billion by 2027.
UAE’s per capita GDP was USD 47,792.94 whereas purchasing power parity (PPP) based per capita GDP was USD 77,272.298 for the year 2022.
In 2022, UAE government’s revenue was AED 689.536 billion whereas the expenditure was AED 547.725 billion. This resulted in UAE government’s net lending / borrowing positive at AED 141.811 billion in 2022 indicating that enough financial resources were made available by the UAE government to boost economic growth.
The current account balance for UAE was positive USD 74.18 billion for the year 2022 and is expected to further decrease at a CAGR of 11.75% and reach positive USD 39.713 billion by 2027. This positive current account balance indicates that UAE will remain a net lender to rest of the world till 2027.
