For harvesting the animal milk mostly from cows, goats, buffalo, sheep, horses etc, dairy business venture was established. The location of a diary is typically found on a dedicated dairy farm. A diary can even be located as a section of a multi-purpose farm such as an agricultural farm that is into harvesting of milk. 

The raw milk received from the farmers is processed in dairy plants to increase their marketable life. Dairy plants employ two main types of processes namely heat treatment and dehydrating dairy products. Heat treatment is a process done mainly to ensure the safety of milk for human consumption and also to increase its shelf-life. Dehydrating dairy products is done to store the products for a long time. Examples of dehydrated dairy products are butter, cheese and milk powders.

According to the US study, organic dairy products are more economically useful than the conventional dairy products. Organic milk is one of the examples of organic dairy products.

• Oceania (New Zealand and Australia) is expected to remain the most significant exporter region, with a more than 40% share of the global export market.
• In Latin America milk production is expected to grow by nearly 3% p.a. Brazil’s milk production is projected to grow by 1.7% p.a.milk production in Argentina is expected to reach record levels. 
• After peaking in 2011, global dairy product prices are expected to ease as demand adjusts and as supply responds, particularity in Oceania.
