نظرة عامة
Scope of the Report
The global FPD Metrology and Inspection Equipment market size is predicted to grow from US$ 1,291 million in 2025 to US$ 2,026 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.1% from 2026 to 2032.
FPD Inspection and Metrology Equipment refers to dedicated inspection, measurement, testing and process-control equipment used across the manufacturing flow of LCD, OLED, AMOLED, Mini LED, Micro LED, Micro OLED, automotive displays, near-eye displays and other flat-panel display devices. These tools are deployed in glass substrate, TFT array, color filter, cell, module, touch-panel, flexible-display, micro-display and next-generation emissive-display processes to detect or measure particles, foreign materials, scratches, open and short defects, mura, pixel defects, emission abnormalities, luminance, chromaticity, film thickness, critical dimensions, overlay, uniformity, electrical characteristics, aging reliability and functional display performance. A typical system integrates precision optics, lighting modules, motion stages, probes or electrical-test units, pattern generators, image-processing algorithms, AI-based defect classification, data-acquisition modules and yield-management interfaces.
In terms of price, FPD Inspection and Metrology Equipment involves many types of equipment, and the prices vary greatly. For example, the price range of Cell optical inspection equipment is RMB 2.3-4.5 million per unit; Module optical inspection equipment is 2-3 times the price. The overall gross profit margin range of the global market falls around 40-45%.
During the mature LCD phase, inspection equipment was primarily used for defect interception and yield maintenance across Array, CF, Cell and LCM processes. As the industry moves toward OLED, flexible OLED, Micro OLED and Micro LED, the inspection focus has shifted from large-area glass substrates and circuit-pattern defects to emissive-pixel consistency, LLO defects, Mura, luminance and chromaticity uniformity, EL / PL response, DeMura and near-eye display optical performance.
From the supply side, mainland Chinese companies are rapidly filling gaps in display module testing, OLED inspection, Micro OLED / Micro LED inspection, front-end Array metrology and machine-vision-based system integration. Taiwanese suppliers continue to maintain strong engineering capabilities in FPD AOI, display testing and Micro LED / Micro OLED inspection and metrology. Korean equipment vendors, meanwhile, have formed a dense supplier cluster around OLED AOI, OLED test, Mura, DeMura, OLED mask inspection and Micro LED EL / PL inspection.
On the demand side, the core driver is no longer traditional LCD capacity expansion, but the rising inspection complexity brought by IT OLED adoption, higher reliability requirements for automotive displays, Micro OLED near-eye displays and Micro LED industrialization. BOE has disclosed that its Chengdu Gen 8.6 AMOLED production line involves a total investment of approximately RMB 63 billion, while LG Display has also announced a KRW 1.26 trillion investment in new OLED technology infrastructure. These investments in high-generation OLED and next-generation OLED technologies will directly drive demand for Array, Cell, Module, aging, Mura / DeMura, optical metrology and final test equipment.
Compared with traditional LCD, OLED and Micro LED place a higher value on inspection because each emissive pixel itself becomes a potential quality-risk point. Inspection equipment must not only identify visible defects, but also participate in process control for luminance, chromaticity, uniformity and lifetime consistency.

Research Methodology
All MarketResearchReports.com strategic research reports follow a rigorous, multi-stage methodology combining AI-assisted data synthesis with expert analyst validation.
Systematic collection from 500+ verified sources including SEC filings, industry databases (Bloomberg, Statista, OECD), regulatory filings, trade publications, patent databases, and company annual reports. AI-assisted extraction identifies relevant data points across 10,000+ documents per report.
Dual-validation approach: bottom-up sizing aggregates segment-level production, consumption, and trade data; top-down sizing cross-validates against macroeconomic indicators and total addressable market estimates. Discrepancies >5% trigger analyst review.
Company profiles built from public financial disclosures, product launches, M&A activity, job postings (as capability proxies), and supply chain mapping. Market share estimates triangulated across revenue, capacity, and shipment data.
CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.
All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
On-demand reports are generated at time of purchase, incorporating the most recent available data. Static reports are republished when underlying market conditions shift by >10% from baseline assumptions. Purchasers receive update notifications for 12 months.
