Scope of the Report

The global Automotive Sound Components market size is predicted to grow from US$ 7,924 million in 2025 to US$ 10,683 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.4% from 2026 to 2032.

Automotive sound components are passive acoustic parts, material assemblies and modular acoustic packages installed in passenger cabins, body structures, engine compartments, underbodies, wheelhouses, doors, headliners, floor systems, luggage compartments and, increasingly, around electric-drive, battery and thermal-management areas of new-energy vehicles. This study focuses on vehicle-mounted components with clear sound absorption, sound insulation, damping, sealing, acoustic barrier, cavity filling or integrated acoustic-thermal functions. Typical products include dash inner and outer insulators, floor acoustic packages, carpet composites, wheelhouse liners, hoodliners, engine-bay insulators, underbody acoustic shields, trunk liners, parcel shelves, door / pillar / roof absorbers, body-cavity acoustic baffles, damping pads, liquid-applied sound deadeners, acoustic foams, fiber felts, nonwoven composites and lightweight multilayer materials. Key performance considerations include absorption coefficient, transmission loss, insertion loss, damping performance, areal weight, thickness, temperature resistance, flammability, odor, VOC, fogging, durability, recyclability and platform-level integration with OEM vehicle NVH targets.

Based on our research, automotive sound components should be viewed as a system-level NVH component category rather than a single-material market. In conventional internal-combustion vehicles, acoustic packages are mainly designed around engine noise, dash insulation, floor transmission loss, wheelhouse road noise, engine-bay absorption and passenger-cabin comfort. In electric vehicles, the disappearance or reduction of engine masking noise changes the engineering priorities: tire noise, wind noise, electric-drive high-frequency noise, thermal-management noise and structure-borne paths become more noticeable. This shifts product development from heavy, coverage-based insulation toward lightweight, multi-frequency, recyclable, low-VOC and acoustic-thermal integrated solutions. Regulatory pressure on exterior vehicle noise and OEM investment in perceived cabin quality support continuous product upgrading, although the market remains a mature automotive component segment rather than a hyper-growth technology category.

Demand is supported by a large global vehicle production base and by structural changes in vehicle architecture. Global vehicle production remained close to 100 million units in 2025, while electric vehicles exceeded 20 million units and accounted for roughly one quarter of new vehicle sales. This does not mean that every EV requires more acoustic content than every ICE vehicle; rather, the acoustic value migrates to different locations and frequency bands. Wheelhouse liners, underbody acoustic shields, floor packages, lightweight absorbers, electric-drive insulation, battery-area acoustic pads and low-odor interior materials become more important. Suppliers able to combine material science, simulation, acoustic testing, low-mass design and local program delivery are better positioned than companies that only provide commodity felt or aftermarket sound-deadening sheets.

Looking forward, the market is expected to grow at a steady mid-single-digit pace. The main growth drivers are vehicle production recovery, EV and hybrid penetration, higher cabin-comfort expectations, regulatory noise control, material substitution and OEM localization strategies. The main risks are OEM cost reduction, platform simplification, part integration, volatility in polymer and fiber input costs, and partial substitution by active noise control in selected premium applications. Overall, the industry favors companies with global manufacturing footprints, strong OEM relationships, validated material libraries, acoustic-thermal co-design capabilities and the ability to support both global platforms and local Chinese / Asian programs.
