Scope of the Report

The global CoMo Hydrodesulfurization Catalyst market size is predicted to grow from US$ 607 million in 2025 to US$ 736 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 2.8% from 2026 to 2032.

CoMo Hydrodesulfurization Catalysts are a type of hydroprocessing catalyst used in oil refining, featuring cobalt and molybdenum as the primary active metal components and porous materials—such as activated alumina—as supports. They are designed to convert organic sulfides in feedstocks into hydrogen sulfide in the presence of hydrogen, offering high hydroprocessing activity and excellent stability.

Upstream raw materials for CoMo hydrodesulfurization catalysts primarily include support materials (such as pseudoboehmite and activated alumina), molybdenum sources (such as ammonium heptamolybdate, ammonium molybdate, or molybdenum trioxide), cobalt sources (such as cobalt nitrate or cobalt carbonate), as well as phosphoric acid, citric acid, chelating agents, peptizing agents, binders, and extrusion aids. Downstream customers are predominantly oil refining enterprises; the catalysts are loaded into fixed-bed hydroprocessing reactors to treat feedstocks—including gasoline fractions, naphtha, kerosene, diesel, gas oil, and residual oil—under specific temperature and pressure conditions in the presence of hydrogen. These processes yield low-sulfur gasoline and diesel, aviation kerosene, low-sulfur fuel oil, or high-quality FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking) feedstock.

In 2025, global sales volume is estimated at approximately 50,000 metric tons, with a composite average price of around US$11.8 per kilogram; major manufacturers in the industry report gross profit margins in the range of 27% to 38%.
