Scope of the Report

The global Nonwoven Building Material market size is predicted to grow from US$ 4,301 million in 2025 to US$ 7,157 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.5% from 2026 to 2032.

In 2025, global sales volume of Nonwoven Building Material was approximately 1.10 million tonnes, with a weighted average selling price of around USD 3.8 per kilogram at the manufacturer level. Major manufacturers generally recorded gross margins of approximately 18%–28%.

Nonwoven Building Material refers to roll-form or felt-like functional materials manufactured primarily from polyester fiber, polypropylene fiber, glass fiber, and other fibrous raw materials through nonwoven production processes. Unlike conventional textiles, these materials are produced without spinning or weaving, as the fibers are directly formed into a web and subsequently bonded. They are characterized by low weight, adjustable pore structure, good structural continuity, ease of lamination, corrosion resistance, and suitability for continuous wide-width production. Within building material systems, they commonly function as independent functional layers, reinforcing carriers, or composite substrates, providing waterproofing and vapor permeability, thermal and acoustic insulation, crack resistance, dimensional stability, and surface facing performance.

The upstream supply chain mainly comprises polyester chips and fiber, polypropylene resin, glass fiber, recycled fiber, binder, coating material, functional additive, and equipment for spunbonding, needle punching, wet laying, thermal bonding, and finishing. Downstream manufacturing activities include waterproofing membrane, roofing underlayment, building wrap, thermal and acoustic insulation material, flooring underlay, gypsum board facing mat, and insulation board facing material. These products are ultimately incorporated into roofing, wall, flooring, and building board systems.
