Scope of the Report

Luneburg lens, often incorrectly spelled as Luneberg lens, is a dielectric lens that collects and focuses electromagnetic energy. According to the theory proposed by Rudolf Karl Luneburg in 1944, the lens is spherical and its dielectric constant varies more in the part close to its center. Due to this property, the lens can refract and focus the incident energy. When the angle of incidence changes, the focus also changes. Its characteristic is that due to its spherical shape, it can concentrate energy entering from all angles.

Luneburg lens antenna, also called Luneburg lens antenna, Luneburg antenna, dielectric lens antenna, etc., is derived from Luneburg lens. Its principle is to use the refractive properties of multi-layer dielectric spheres to gather the low-gain, wide-beam electromagnetic wave signals of a single antenna unit into high-gain, narrow-beam electromagnetic wave signals.

At present, Luneburg lens antennas have two relatively mature products: single-beam and multi-beam. The most widely used single-beam products are mainly used in high-speed and high-speed rail service scenarios. Multi-beam products mainly solve capacity and wide-area coverage scenarios.

The global market is basically dominated by manufacturers in China and the United States. The world's leading manufacturers of Dielectric Lens Antenna mainly include EAHiSON, Gaoxinda, Xi'an Haitian, Shenglu Communication, Lunewave, Hefei Ruosen and EC Microwave (RFecho), etc. The top three manufacturers account for approximately 70% of the global market share.

In terms of product type and technology, cylindrical products accounted for 67.6% of the total market sales. Due to the relatively cheap price of cylindrical products, their corresponding revenue market share is only 63.7%.

In terms of product market application, civil scenarios represented by 5G communication and industrial Internet are the main downstream application markets. The global application share of the civil field is about 93.7%.
