Scope of the Report
The global Pet Microchips market size is predicted to grow from US$ 457 million in 2025 to US$ 588 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.7% from 2026 to 2032.
A microchip is a computer chip enclosed in a small glass cylinder (about the size of a grain of rice) that is injected under pet’s skin as a means of identification. Each microchip is connected to an online registry of owner contact information. In the event that pet is lost and taken to a shelter or veterinary hospital, he will be scanned for a microchip. If the contact information on file is up to date, the pet’s owner can be quickly notified and reunited with their pet. Microchipping a pet is a quick and simple procedure. The chip is inserted under a pet’s skin, usually around the scruff of the neck, using a needle. It takes seconds. Pets can be checked for a microchip using a handheld electronic device, called a scanner. When this is waved over the PET’s neck, the scanner will recognise the unique information held inside the chip. The microchips presently used in pets only contain identification numbers. No, the microchip is not a GPS device and cannot track your animal if it gets lost. Although the present technology microchip itself does not contain your pet"s medical information, some microchip registration databases will allow you to store that information in the database for quick reference.
Global Pet Microchips key players include Pethealth Inc, HomeAgain, Bayer, AVID Identification Systems, Datamars, etc. Global top five manufacturers hold a share about 35%. North America is the largest market, with a share about 55%, followed by Europe, with a share about 30 percent. All MarketResearchReports.com strategic research reports follow a rigorous, multi-stage methodology combining AI-assisted data synthesis with expert analyst validation.
Systematic collection from 500+ verified sources including SEC filings, industry databases (Bloomberg, Statista, OECD), regulatory filings, trade publications, patent databases, and company annual reports. AI-assisted extraction identifies relevant data points across 10,000+ documents per report.
Dual-validation approach: bottom-up sizing aggregates segment-level production, consumption, and trade data; top-down sizing cross-validates against macroeconomic indicators and total addressable market estimates. Discrepancies >5% trigger analyst review.
Company profiles built from public financial disclosures, product launches, M&A activity, job postings (as capability proxies), and supply chain mapping. Market share estimates triangulated across revenue, capacity, and shipment data.
CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.
All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
