Scope of the Report

The global Aluminum Grain Refiners and Modifiers market size is predicted to grow from US$ 1,086 million in 2025 to US$ 1,460 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.4% from 2026 to 2032.

Aluminum Grain Refiners and Modifiers are aluminum-based master alloys or additives used to control the microstructure of aluminum and aluminum alloy melts. Grain refiners—exemplified by systems such as Al-Ti-B and Al-Ti-C—are used to refine primary α-Al grains and reduce the formation of columnar crystals and the tendency for hot cracking. Modifiers—exemplified by systems such as Al-Sr, Al-Sb, and Al-Na—are used to alter the morphology of eutectic silicon in Al-Si alloys, transforming coarse plate-like or acicular silicon into fine fibrous or granular structures, thereby enhancing casting performance, mechanical properties, and processing stability.

Upstream raw materials primarily include electrolytic aluminum, aluminum ingots or molten aluminum, and sources of titanium, boron, strontium, antimony, and sodium, as well as reaction aids such as sodium salts and fluoride salts. Aluminum serves as the matrix material and determines the primary cost; titanium and boron are used to form nucleating phases like Al₃Ti and TiB₂, making them critical components of Al-Ti-B grain refiners; strontium, antimony, and sodium are primarily used to modify eutectic silicon in Al-Si alloys. The midstream sector involves the smelting, reaction, refining, and casting of master alloys, followed by rolling or extrusion into rods, cutting into segments, or ingot production. The downstream sector comprises enterprises engaged in aluminum processing, aluminum casting, recycled aluminum production, and the manufacture of sheet, strip, and foil, profiles, automotive aluminum alloys, and Al-Si castings.

In 2025, global sales volume is projected to be approximately 300,000 tons, with a global average market price of around US$3,700 per ton; the gross profit margin for major manufacturers in the industry ranges from approximately 10% to 22%.

Global key Aluminum Grain Refiners and Modifiers players cover AMG Aluminum, KBM Affilips, Aleastur, Pyrotek, Minex Metallurgical, etc.
