Scope of the Report

The global ED-Shaped Silicon Carbide Rod market size is predicted to grow from US$ 66.08 million in 2025 to US$ 99 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.0% from 2026 to 2032.

In 2025, global production of ED type silicon carbide rods reached 1.93 million units, with an estimated average selling price of US$35 per unit. ED constant diameter straight silicon carbide rods are not irregularly shaped curved structures and are one of the most common straight rod-type heating elements among silicon carbide rods. Made primarily from high-purity, green silicon carbide, it undergoes processes such as blank preparation, high-temperature siliconization, recrystallization, end-conversion low-resistivity treatment, and surface electrode processing. It typically consists of a central heating section and two cold ends. The cold ends are treated with low resistance to reduce terminal temperature rise, decrease energy consumption, and extend service life. Its main applications include box furnaces, tube furnaces, bogie hearth furnaces, pusher furnaces, roller kilns, tunnel kilns, ceramic sintering furnaces, glass annealing furnaces, powder metallurgy furnaces, magnetic material sintering furnaces, lithium battery material sintering furnaces, electronic ceramic furnaces, laboratory high-temperature furnaces, and various industrial heat treatment equipment. It is one of the silicon carbide rod products with the highest degree of standardization and the most stable replacement demand. The upstream of the industry chain mainly includes green silicon carbide micron powder, petroleum coke, quartz sand/silicon sources, carbon materials, binders, metallic silicon, aluminum spraying materials, ceramic insulating parts, and electrode clamps; the midstream includes mixing, extrusion or molding, high-temperature silaneization/recrystallization, cold-end treatment, resistance sorting, end metallization, testing, and packaging; the downstream includes industrial furnace manufacturers, ceramic and refractory material companies, glass and fiberglass companies, powder metallurgy companies, lithium battery and electronic material companies, and laboratory equipment manufacturers. Gross profit margins range from approximately 20% to 40%.

Global key ED-Shaped Silicon Carbide Rod players cover Tokai Carbon, Sandvik, Kanthal, I Squared R Element, The Insulcon Group, etc.
