概観

Scope of the Report

The global Solar Grade Silicon Feedstock market size is predicted to grow from US$ 25,403 million in 2025 to US$ 48,569 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.8% from 2026 to 2032.

Solar Grade Silicon Feedstock (SoG-Si) refers to high-purity silicon material used as the primary raw input for producing photovoltaic (PV) solar cells. It typically has a purity of about 99.9999% (6N) or higher, which is lower than semiconductor-grade silicon but sufficient for crystalline silicon solar wafers. The supply chain of solar-grade silicon feedstock begins with quartz (SiO₂) mining, which is processed in electric arc furnaces to produce metallurgical-grade silicon (MG-Si, ~98–99% purity). This material then undergoes chemical purification processes such as the Siemens process or Fluidized Bed Reactor (FBR) process to produce polysilicon, the main solar-grade feedstock. The polysilicon is subsequently converted into ingots through Czochralski (monocrystalline) or directional solidification (multicrystalline) methods, followed by wafer slicing, solar cell fabrication, and module assembly. Upstream inputs include quartz, carbon reductants, electricity, and chlorosilanes, while downstream industries are dominated by photovoltaic wafer manufacturers, solar cell producers, and solar module manufacturers serving utility-scale solar farms, commercial solar installations, and residential PV systems. In 2025, global Solar Grade Silicon Feedstock output was about 2.9 million tons with 3.8 million tons of capacity, average prices of USD 7,500 – 12,000 per ton, and gross margins around 24%.

Global key Solar Grade Silicon Feedstock players cover Tongwei (China), GCL Technology (China), Daqo New Energy (China), Xinte Energy (China), Asia Silicon (China), etc.
