概観

Scope of the Report

The global Multifunctional Epoxy Resin market size is predicted to grow from US$ 1,926 million in 2025 to US$ 2,781 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.4% from 2026 to 2032.

In 2025, global sales volume of multifunctional epoxy resin was approximately 360,000 metric tons, with an average ex-factory selling price of about USD 5.2 per kilogram. Gross margins of major manufacturers were generally in the range of 25%–38%.

Multifunctional epoxy resin refers to a class of thermosetting resin with an average of more than two reactive epoxy groups per molecule. Typical commercial products include multifunctional glycidyl ether resin, glycidyl amine resin, and certain cycloaliphatic epoxy resin. Compared with conventional difunctional epoxy resin, multifunctional epoxy resin forms a more densely crosslinked three-dimensional network during curing, generally providing higher glass transition temperature, improved heat resistance, dimensional stability, mechanical strength, and resistance to chemicals. Commercial products are mainly available as trifunctional, tetrafunctional, and higher-functionality resin and can be used either as the primary resin or as a heat-resistant modifier to enhance the long-term performance of epoxy systems under high-temperature, high-load, and high-reliability operating conditions.

Key upstream raw materials include phenol, o-cresol, bisphenol compound, polyhydric phenol, aromatic amine, epichlorohydrin, cycloaliphatic olefin, catalyst, and purification auxiliary. Phenolic novolac oligomer, polyhydric phenol, and aromatic amine are particularly important for constructing multifunctional molecular backbones. Downstream, multifunctional epoxy resin is generally formulated with amine, acid anhydride, phenolic resin, or latent curing agent, together with filler, flame retardant, toughening agent, and accelerator, to produce encapsulation compound, laminating resin, prepreg, structural adhesive, and heat-resistant coating. These materials are ultimately used in semiconductor packaging, copper-clad laminate, aerospace composite, wind turbine blade, high-temperature structural adhesive, and heat-resistant anticorrosive coating.
