Scope of the Report

The global Recombinant Carboxypeptidase B market size is predicted to grow from US$ 547 million in 2025 to US$ 1,037 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.8% from 2026 to 2032.

Recombinant carboxypeptidase B is an enzyme obtained through genetic engineering technology. The gene of recombinant carboxypeptidase B usually comes from organisms in nature, such as Escherichia coli or Pichia pastoris. Through cloning, expression and purification, the recombinant carboxypeptidase B is separated and purified from recombinant Pichia pastoris or Escherichia coli, and then freeze-dried to obtain the lyophilized powder of recombinant carboxypeptidase B.

Recombinant carboxypeptidase B belongs to the metallocarboxypeptidase family, and each molecule contains one Zn atom. It has the ability to specifically hydrolyze the amino end of the C-terminal basic amino acids of proteins (such as lysine, arginine, and histidine). This characteristic makes it have a wide range of application potential in protein sequence analysis, modification, and peptide synthesis.

The activity of recombinant CPB is inhibited by typical metal chelators such as EDTA, and Cu²⁺ and Hg²⁺.

Metal ions such as Zn²⁺ and Mn²⁺ can increase the enzyme activity to varying degrees. The optimal pH of CPB is 8.0. Acidic or alkaline conditions will cause a decrease in activity. When the pH is close to 5.0, the activity is close to zero, and when the pH>12.0, the activity is completely lost. Within a certain temperature range (<60°C), the activity of CPB increases with increasing temperature.

With the continuous development and optimization of genetic engineering technology, the production efficiency and purity of recombinant carboxypeptidase B have been significantly improved, reducing production costs and enhancing market competitiveness. The introduction of new technologies, such as enzyme engineering and fermentation engineering, has further promoted the innovation of the production process of recombinant carboxypeptidase B and improved the yield and quality.

Recombinant carboxypeptidase B has a wide range of applications in biomedicine, scientific research, industrial production and other fields. With the continuous development of these fields, the demand for recombinant carboxypeptidase B is also growing continuously. Especially in the field of biomedicine, recombinant carboxypeptidase B plays an important role in the production of biological drugs such as insulin and antibodies. With the continuous expansion of the biological drug market, its demand will also increase further.

The government's support policies and capital investment in the biopharmaceutical industry have provided strong support for the research and development and production of recombinant carboxypeptidase B. The increase in research and development investment by scientific research institutions and enterprises has promoted the continuous innovation and upgrading of recombinant carboxypeptidase B related technologies.

With the aging of the global population and the improvement of health awareness, the demand for biopharmaceutical products continues to increase, driving the growth of the recombinant carboxypeptidase B market. In addition, the application of recombinant carboxypeptidase B in industrial fields such as food and cosmetics has gradually expanded, further promoting the expansion of the market.
