개요

Scope of the Report

The global Gallium Ore market size is predicted to grow from US$ 310 million in 2025 to US$ 500 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.2% from 2026 to 2032.

Gallium constitutes 0.0015% of the Earth's crust. In nature, gallium is relatively dispersed, mostly existing as a by-product, primarily in bauxite, and less frequently in tin, tungsten, and lead-zinc ores. Gallium (Ga) is a grayish-blue or silvery-white metal with the element symbol Ga and an atomic weight of 69.723. Gallium has a very low melting point but a very high boiling point. Pure liquid gallium has a significant tendency to supercool and readily oxidizes in air, forming an oxide film. Gallium is usually extracted from a byproduct of the alumina industry and is one of the very few metals that melts at slightly above room temperature. This report focuses on Gallium Ore (crude gallium) products. In 2025, global Gallium Ore production reached approximately 894.48 Tons. The Gallium Ore (crude gallium) supply chain is characterized by its byproduct nature, primarily derived from bauxite (aluminum refining) and, to a lesser extent, zinc processing. Control of the upstream lies in alumina production capacity, which explains China’s dominance in global gallium supply. Key upstream players include Chalco, China Hongqiao, Rio Tinto, and Alcoa.

Under the influence of U.S. tariff policies and global supply-chain restructuring, the gallium ore market has shifted from a purely resource-driven model to a policy- and semiconductor-demand-driven system. Although gallium ore itself is not directly traded, supply is tightly linked to China’s alumina industry, resulting in high concentration and vulnerability. While diversification efforts and recycled gallium will grow, China is expected to remain dominant in the near term.
