Scope of the Report
The global Isopropyl Vinyl Ether market size is predicted to grow from US$ 18.83 million in 2025 to US$ 26.58 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.8% from 2026 to 2032.
Isopropyl vinyl ether, abbreviated as IPVE, has a CAS number of 926-65-8, a molecular formula of C5H10O, a molecular weight of 86.13, and a structural formula of CH2=CH-O-CH (CH3) 2. This product is a monofunctional active organic compound containing both vinyl and ether bonds. It is a colorless, transparent, low viscosity, and volatile liquid at room temperature, with a typical boiling point of about 55.5 ℃, a density of about 0.7534, a viscosity of about 1.0 millipascal second at 25 ℃, and a flash point below minus 20 ℃. The purity of industrial products is usually not less than 98.0%, with high cationic polymerization activity. They can be used as homopolymers, comonomers, reactive diluents, solvents, and fine chemical intermediates in the fields of coatings, inks, adhesives, UV curable materials, pharmaceutical intermediates, plasticizers, anti-corrosion materials, lubricating additives, and functional polymers.
Upstream raw materials: isopropanol, acetylene, potassium hydroxide, potassium isopropoxide, and other strong base catalysts.
Downstream terminal applications: coatings, adhesives, lubricants, greases, elastomers, reactive diluents.
The cost of raw materials accounts for 78%; Labor costs account for 8%; The manufacturing cost accounts for 14%.
Isopropyl vinyl ether is a special vinyl ether monomer with a small supply scale and high technical added value. Its core advantages lie in low molecular viscosity, fast reaction speed, and the ability to participate in cationic polymerization and free radical copolymerization. Therefore, it has differentiated value in low viscosity rapid curing coatings, inks, adhesives, and special resin systems. Compared with traditional non reactive solvents, isopropyl vinyl ether as a reactive diluent can participate in curing and enter the polymer structure, helping to reduce formula viscosity, improve construction performance, and reduce residual volatile components during the curing process. The Japanese carbide industry applies vinyl ether to coatings, inks, adhesives, and photolithography materials, emphasizing its rapid curing, transparency, flexibility, compatibility, and processability, which will continue to support its application in the field of high-performance materials. The future business opportunities mainly come from UV curable coatings, electronic materials, functional adhesives, special plasticizers, and high-purity pharmaceutical intermediates, but the products also face competition from other vinyl ethers, acrylic ester active diluents, and epoxy active diluents.
