Scope of the Report

The global Dry Film Photoresist Resin market size is predicted to grow from US$ 739 million in 2025 to US$ 1,255 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.9% from 2026 to 2032.

Dry film photoresist resin is the core film-forming and reactive resin material in the photosensitive layer of dry film photoresist. It is usually composed of acrylic resin, epoxy modified resin, polyurethane or polyester modified resin, alkali soluble copolymer, photopolymerization monomer oligomer, and related photosensitive polymer. It is coated on a polyester film carrier with photoinitiator, dye, plasticizer, stabilizer, and filler to form a dry film photoresist material that can be attached, exposed, developed, etched, electroplated, and peeled off. Its main function is to complete pattern transfer in PCB, HDI, FPC, IC carrier board, lead frame, MEMS and microstructure processing, determining the resolution, adhesion, development window, electroplating resistance, etching resistance, film stripping and storage stability of dry film photoresist. In 2025, global Dry Film Photoresist Resin production reached approximately 51,236 Tons, with an average global market price of around US$ 14,753 per ton.

Dry film photoresist resin is a key upstream material in electronic chemicals, and its market growth is mainly driven by the demand for high-density PCBs, HDI boards, FPC, IC carrier boards, automotive electronics, AI servers, high-speed communication equipment, and advanced packaging. Among them, dry films used for direct imaging of IC carrier boards and LDI have higher requirements for resin resolution, adhesion, low defect, and electroplating resistance, driving product structure upgrading towards high-end. From the perspective of product structure, acrylic resin is still the largest category, suitable for ordinary PCB and HDI dry film photoresist; Epoxy and modified epoxy resins have a high unit price and are mainly used for high chemical resistance, thick film structures, MEMS, and wafer level packaging; Polyurethane or polyester modified resins benefit from the increasing demand for FPC and flexible electronics. The future market opportunities will focus on high-resolution dry film resins, LDI compatible resins, low defect resins for IC carriers, electroplating resistant resins, and environmentally friendly alkaline development systems. However, the industry still faces barriers such as long customer certification cycles, high formula stability requirements, and difficulty in controlling the purity and molecular weight of high-end resins.
