개요

Scope of the Report

The global Anti-corrosion and Sealing Tape market size is predicted to grow from US$ 592 million in 2025 to US$ 796 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.4% from 2026 to 2032.

In 2025, global sales of Anti-corrosion and Sealing Tape reached approximately 192 million Sq m, with an average market price of about USD 3.15 Sq m, an annual production capacity of roughly 220 million Sq m, and an industry-average gross margin of approximately 20%.

Anti-corrosion and Sealing Tape refer to functional wrapping tapes and associated coating materials used to protect the external surfaces of industrial pipelines, tanks, valves, flanges, steel structures, marine piles and other metallic assets against corrosion. These systems are typically based on polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, butyl rubber, petrolatum, wax, viscoelastic compounds, bitumen, coal tar or corrosion-inhibiting composite materials, and are applied by cold wrapping, hot wrapping, hand wrapping, machine application or plant-applied processes. They form a continuous protective barrier against moisture, oxygen, soil electrolytes, salts, chemicals and mechanical damage. Key performance attributes include adhesion, overlap sealing, dielectric strength, moisture resistance, soil-stress resistance, cathodic-protection compatibility, low-temperature applicability, chemical resistance and long-term field durability. Major applications include oil and gas pipelines, city gas networks, water and wastewater pipelines, petrochemical facilities, offshore and marine structures, tank bases, girth welds, field joints, corrosion under insulation and industrial maintenance.

According to our research, Anti-corrosion and Sealing Tapes are best understood as field-adaptable protective materials within the broader external corrosion protection market. Their strategic value is not to replace every factory-applied coating system, but to address practical corrosion-control problems in field joints, girth welds, repairs, valves, flanges, tank bases, marine splash zones, irregular geometries and maintenance of existing assets. Compared with FBE, 3LPE and liquid epoxy systems, tape-based systems offer greater flexibility in localized application, lower equipment requirements and better suitability for maintenance and retrofit work. The existence of established standards such as AWWA, AMPP/NACE and EN 12068 also indicates that this is a mature engineering material category rather than a purely commodity adhesive tape segment.

From a supply-side perspective, the global market is structured around a small group of international brands, several regional specialists and a long tail of Chinese and Indian suppliers. Henkel/Seal For Life, Winn & Coales/Denso, DENSO GmbH, Chase/Royston, Trenton, Nitto, Avery/Yongle and 3M represent the most visible global or regional suppliers across PE/butyl tapes, petrolatum systems, wax tapes, PVC pipe wraps, viscoelastic materials and corrosion-inhibiting tapes. China has a relatively broad manufacturing base in PE/PP cold-applied tapes, petrolatum tapes and mid-to-low-cost pipeline wrapping materials, while India has a number of suppliers focused on bituminous, coal-tar and underground pipeline tapes. However, financial disclosure, brand ownership and true manufacturing status vary significantly across smaller suppliers.

From a demand perspective, oil and gas pipelines and water infrastructure remain the base market, while chemical plants, tank farms, marine structures and corrosion-under-insulation applications provide higher-value growth opportunities. New long-distance pipeline construction is no longer the only driver; maintenance of aging networks, municipal water and gas renewal, petrochemical turnaround projects, offshore asset life extension and localized corrosion repair are becoming increasingly important. High-performance petrolatum, wax, viscoelastic and inhibitor-based tapes are better positioned in complex, wet, irregular and high-downtime-cost environments, whereas standard PVC and PE wrapping tapes are more exposed to price competition in regional projects.
