개요

Scope of the Report

The global Clary Sage Oil market size is predicted to grow from US$ 1,014 million in 2025 to US$ 1,526 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.1% from 2026 to 2032.

Global sales of clary sage oil reached 31,078 tons in 2025, with an average price of US$30,428 per ton.

Clary Sage Essential Oil is derived from the Salvia sclarea herb. Used in aromatherapy applications, Clary Sage Essential Oil has sedative abilities that induce feelings of relaxation, clarity, and calmness while alleviating dizziness, anxiety, and irritability.

The raw materials for clary sage oil are the dried leaves or corollas of plants in the Salvia genus (Salvia spp.) of the Lamiaceae family, mainly "clary sage (S. sclarea)" and "Spanish sage (S. lavandulifolia)": the former has an oil yield of 0.05-0.1% from steam distillation of the corolla, rich in linalyl acetate (60-80%); the latter has a leaf oil yield of 1-2%, containing 1,8-cineole and camphor. The raw material purchase price fluctuates between 8,000 and 12,000 RMB/ton depending on the variety and origin (France, Spain, Xinjiang, China, etc.), accounting for 55-60% of the ex-factory cost; distillation energy consumption, labor, and testing account for 25-30%, so a 10% fluctuation in raw material price can directly translate to a 6-7% change in essential oil price.
