Scope of the Report
The global Long Steel market size is predicted to grow from US$ 490,310 million in 2025 to US$ 406,388 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of -2.7% from 2026 to 2032.
Long Steel (Long Steel Product) is a core category of steel products classified by geometric shape, production process and application function. Both the World Steel Association (WSA) and China's industry standards clearly define it: it is made from continuous casting billets/rectangular billets through processes mainly including groove rolling, with a length much larger than the cross-section, simple cross-sectional shape, and structural force bearing and skeleton support as its core functions. Its core categories include section steel, bars, wire rods, rails and deep-processed long products, with representative products such as deformed steel bars, H-beams, and wire rods. It is widely used in fields such as building infrastructure, rail transit, and machinery manufacturing, and has a clear boundary with flat steel (flat rolling) and pipes and tubes (classified separately), serving as the main steel for infrastructure and construction.
Steel industry is one of the essential industries for the development of any community. In fact, it is really the base for numerous industries that could not have been established without steel industry. The European industrial revolution at the beginning of this century was actually founded on this industry.
Globally, steel production is mainly distributed in Asia Pacific, North America and Europe. Core enterprises include China Baowu Group, ArcelorMittal, Ansteel Group, Nippon Steel Corporation, Shagang Group, POSCO, HBIS Group, Jianlong Group, Shougang Group, Tata Steel, etc. Among them, the world's top 5 enterprises account for about 20% of the market share, and the steel market is relatively fragmented
