Scope of the Report

The global Power Quality Compliance Monitoring System market size is predicted to grow from US$ 1,672 million in 2025 to US$ 2,780 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.4% from 2026 to 2032.

A Power Quality Compliance Monitoring System is a permanently installed measurement, recording and analysis system designed to determine whether the voltage and current characteristics of an electrical network comply with specified power-quality standards, grid codes or contractual limits.

The system continuously measures parameters such as supply frequency, voltage magnitude, current magnitude, voltage dips, voltage swells, interruptions, rapid voltage changes, flicker, voltage and current unbalance, harmonics, interharmonics and transient events.

A complete system normally includes a fixed power-quality analyzer, local data storage, time synchronization, communication interfaces and analysis software capable of calculating compliance statistics, identifying limit violations and generating periodic reports.

The 2025 ASP is US$5,700 per unit, global sales volume is approximately 285,000 units, and the estimated average gross margin is approximately 41%.

The upstream chain includes analog-to-digital converters, precision resistors, voltage and current input circuits, microprocessors, FPGAs, memory modules, timing receivers, displays, communication chips and industrial housings. Midstream activities include measurement-algorithm development, PCB assembly, firmware programming, standard-compliance testing, calibration, waveform-processing development, cybersecurity configuration and reporting-software development. Downstream users mainly include electric utilities, industrial manufacturers, data centres and telecommunication companies, commercial and public facilities, and renewable-energy or transportation-infrastructure operators.

The publication of IEC 61000-4-30:2025 is an important technical transition for the market. The latest edition retains Class A and Class S but updates voltage-event and rapid-voltage-change measurement and adds further treatment of conducted emissions between 2 kHz and 150 kHz.

Class A remains the preferred level for contractual verification, regulatory reporting, utility monitoring and comparison of measurements from different instruments. Class S remains suitable for surveys, general diagnostics and applications where lower cost is more important than dispute-grade repeatability.

Compliance monitoring is moving from occasional testing toward permanent observation. Temporary measurements may miss events that occur only under particular production, weather, loading or generation conditions.

The point of common coupling is becoming the principal monitoring location for industrial and renewable-energy compliance. IEEE 519-2022 applies voltage and current distortion limits at the interface between the supply system and facilities containing harmonic-producing loads.

Power-electronic loads are increasing harmonic complexity. Variable-frequency drives, rectifiers, switch-mode power supplies, LED lighting, inverters, chargers and data-centre power systems can generate different harmonic and interharmonic patterns.

Renewable generation introduces bidirectional power flow and variable operating conditions. Monitoring systems must distinguish disturbances originating from the grid from those produced by an inverter plant, battery system or industrial load.
