5G
The next generation wireless technology, 5G, is right around the corner to script a new history. The latency free technology and the number of devices that can be connected — could provide immense opportunity to new businesses that we haven’t even thought of yet. According to Greensill Capital initial estimates put the financial outlay required for 5G at somewhere between $500 billion and $1 trillion, but this number was attributed only to the cost expected to be incurred by telecoms carriers as they upgrade vital infrastructure.
As worldwide spectrum auction and 5G testings are taking place, challenges for implementing 5G services have started to emerge. The optimal space allocation for new 5G towers is a substantial issue for policymakers.
The industry association 3GPP defines any system using "5G NR" (5G New Radio) software as "5G". 5G NR is a latest radio access technology (RAT) developed by 3GPP for the 5G (fifth generation) mobile network. Frequency band for 5G NR are being classified into two different frequency ranges. First Range 1 (FR1) that includes sub-6 GHz frequency bands. The second Range 2 (FR2) that includes frequency bands in the very high frequency range (from 30 to 300 GHz).
