Scope of the Report

The global Industrial Grade Silicon Tetrachloride market size is predicted to grow from US$ 787 million in 2025 to US$ 1,077 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.7% from 2026 to 2032.

Industrial-grade silicon tetrachloride (SiCl₄) is a basic chlorosilane chemical used in fields such as organosilicon, silica, and chlorosilane chemicals. It is typically a colorless, transparent liquid with strong volatility and hygroscopicity. Its purity is generally in the range of 98%–99.5%, with impurities including trichlorosilane (SiHCl₃), dichlorodisilazane (Si₂Cl₆), hydrogen chloride (HCl), and ppm-level metal ions. Industrial-grade products typically have a moisture content of ≤50–200 ppm and metal impurities controlled at the ppm level, suitable for large-scale chemical reactions, but not meeting the ultra-high purity requirements of the electronics industry.

In contrast, high-purity (electronic-grade) silicon tetrachloride requires a purity of 99.999% (5N) to 99.99999% (7N), with metal impurities controlled at the ppb–ppt level, near-zero moisture, and requires multi-stage distillation, deep purification, and ultra-clean processes. It is mainly used in high-end applications such as optical fiber preforms and semiconductor materials. The product has an average price of approximately US$1,050 per ton and global sales of approximately 766,000 tons.

Global key Industrial Grade Silicon Tetrachloride players cover Dow, Wacker, Evonik, Momentive, Shin‑Etsu, etc.
