Vista general
Scope of the Report
The Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Urea System is an advanced emissions control technology used in diesel engines to reduce harmful nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. Here's how it works:
1. Urea Solution Injection: A urea-based solution, commonly known as Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), is injected into the exhaust stream of a diesel engine. The DEF is a mixture of urea (32.5%) and deionized water (67.5%).
2. Thermal Decomposition: When the DEF is injected into the hot exhaust gases, it undergoes thermal decomposition to form ammonia (NH3) and carbon dioxide (CO2).
3. Catalytic Reaction: The exhaust gases, now mixed with ammonia, pass through a catalyst. The catalyst facilitates a chemical reaction between the ammonia and the NOx present in the exhaust gases. This reaction converts the NOx into harmless nitrogen (N2) and water vapor (H2O).
4. Emission Reduction: The result of this process is a significant reduction in NOx emissions, which are a major contributor to air pollution and smog.
The SCR Urea System is widely used in commercial vehicles, agricultural equipment, and other applications requiring diesel engines. It helps comply with stringent environmental regulations and standards by effectively reducing the pollutants emitted from diesel engines.
Global key SCR Urea System players cover Hitachi Zosen Corporation, CECO ENVIRONMENTAL, Nett Technologies Inc., Proventia Group, GVS, etc.
