Scope of the Report

The global Fused Ceramic Sand for Casting market size is predicted to grow from US$ 251 million in 2025 to US$ 360 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.2% from 2026 to 2032.

Fused Ceramic Sand for Casting is an artificial spherical casting sand made mainly from calcined bauxite, mullite, high alumina raw materials or other refractory ceramic materials, through processes such as melt blowing, granulation sintering, screening and grading. Its particles usually have high sphericity, smooth surface, high refractoriness, low thermal expansion rate, good flowability, strong anti crushing ability, and recyclability. They can partially or completely replace silica sand, chromite sand, and zircon sand for resin sand casting, coated sand casting, cold box core making, lost foam casting, and sand 3D printing. Compared with ordinary natural sand, Baozhu sand can reduce the amount of resin and binder used, improve the filling and permeability of sand molds, reduce defects such as sand sticking, veins, sand inclusions, and hot cracking, and improve the surface quality, dimensional accuracy, and old sand reuse rate of castings.

The upstream mainly includes refractory materials such as high alumina bauxite, mullite, kaolin, as well as electricity, natural gas, refractory materials, and screening and packaging materials.

The downstream mainly includes automotive parts, engineering machinery, rail transit, wind power equipment, ships, aerospace, energy equipment and foundries, sand core manufacturing enterprises, and sand mold 3D printing service providers, widely used in processes such as resin sand casting, coated sand casting, cold box core making, lost foam casting, and sand mold 3D printing.

Raw material costs account for 70%; Labor costs account for 8%; The manufacturing cost accounts for 22%.

Fused ceramic sand for casting is gradually transforming from high-end casting auxiliary materials to important functional materials for improving casting quality, reducing comprehensive manufacturing costs, and promoting green production. The current demand mainly comes from the fields of automotive parts, engineering machinery, energy equipment, rail transportation, ships, aerospace, and large cast steel parts, especially suitable for complex sand cores, thin-walled structures, high-temperature alloys, and high-precision castings. Although the procurement cost of Baozhu sand is higher than that of ordinary silica sand, its spherical particles can reduce the consumption of binders, decrease waste sand emissions, and dilute the unit casting cost through multiple regeneration uses. Therefore, it is more economical in casting enterprises with high automation, strict quality requirements, and high environmental pressure. The future growth of the industry will mainly be driven by the green transformation of casting, expansion of sand mold 3D printing, rising labor costs, and localization of high-end equipment. At the same time, product competition will shift from simple price to sphericity, fire resistance, thermal expansion rate, particle size stability, and cycle life.
