Scope of the Report

An endoscopic extraperitoneal dilator is a device used in endoscopic abdominal surgery. It consists of a hollow metal or plastic pipe with adjustable length and diameter. An endoscopic extra-abdominal dilator works by creating a small incision in the abdominal wall, inserting it into the extra-abdominal cavity, and then expanding the size of the extra-abdominal cavity through expansion of the dilator. The main function of the endoscopic extraperitoneal dilator is to provide better visualization and operating space for endoscopic surgery. When an endoscope is inserted into the abdominal cavity, the pressure on the abdominal wall limits the range of motion and field of view of the endoscope. By using an extra-abdominal dilator, the abdominal wall can be separated from the inner cavity, creating a larger operating space and making endoscopic surgery more convenient and safer. Endoscopic extraperitoneal dilators are commonly used by surgeons during surgery, particularly during laparoscopic surgeries that require complex or tight space manipulations. It is widely used in many endoscopic abdominal surgeries, such as cholecystectomy, appendectomy, gastrointestinal surgery, etc. By using endoscopic extraperitoneal dilators, the safety and effectiveness of surgery can be improved and the incidence of surgical complications can be reduced.
