Scope of the Report
The global Multi-gauge Strips market size is predicted to grow from US$ 1,182 million in 2025 to US$ 1,621 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.7% from 2026 to 2032.
Multi-gauge strips are used as electronic materials and terminal materials like lead frame for power IC or high current terminal material because of their conductivity and heat dissipation properties of a thick plate portion as well as workability of a thin plate portion.
The more the demand for high conductivity increaes, the demand for this items as well will be expected to grow.
In terms of consumption, China is currently the world's largest consumer market, with a market revenue share of 48%, followed by Taiwan and Japan, with 19% and 18% respectively. At present, the production capacity and end users of special-shaped copper strips are mainly concentrated in Asia, with the main market in China. Because of the growth in demand for electronic products in China, especially the rectification and inverter circuits of automobiles, solar energy, wind power, LED, and new energy vehicles are facing huge development, which has brought about the growth of China's special-shaped copper strip production capacity and demand.
From the production side, China, Japan, Europe and South Korea are the main production areas, with China and Japan accounting for 47% and 27% of the market share respectively.
From the perspective of product type, copper alloys occupy an important position. At the same time, in terms of application, the lead frame revenue share is about 86%. Special-shaped copper strips are mainly used as semiconductor lead frames, and they bear important responsibilities such as stabilizing chips, conducting signals, and transmitting heat. Therefore, they need to have high heat resistance, corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity, and thermal conductivity. As integrated circuits develop towards miniaturization, thinness, lightness, and multifunctionality, high-strength and high-conductivity lead frame materials are gradually becoming the mainstream of the market. The market is relatively concentrated, and the main manufacturers are Mitsubishi Materials, Wieland, Xinke New Materials, Poongsan, Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group, Protere Metals, Jinchuan Group, and Kobelco. The top five revenue market share is about 45%.
