These properties enable BPS to retain flame retardancy performance even during high-temperature processing, making it suitable for demanding industrial applications like electronics, automotive parts, and appliances.

In recent years, Brominated Polystyrene has experienced rapid growth in demand due to the rising need for halogen-based yet RoHS-compliant flame retardants. Its adoption is particularly strong in the electronics and automotive industries, where materials must meet strict fire safety standards without sacrificing mechanical integrity or environmental compliance. The growing replacement of PBDEs and decaBDE with safer alternatives is driving BPS usage, as it offers high flame retardancy while maintaining excellent thermal and UV stability.
