Scope of the Report

The global Low Voltage Switchgears market size is predicted to grow from US$ 5,318 million in 2025 to US$ 8,303 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.5% from 2026 to 2032.

A switchgear is a complete unit that integrates switching devices (circuit breakers/load switches/isolating and grounding switches, etc.) with busbars, measuring and transformers (CTs/VTs), relay protection and control circuits, interlocking and safety mechanisms, monitoring and communication interfaces, etc., within a metal cabinet/rack. It is used for the connection, distribution, control, isolation, protection, and monitoring of power systems. Its engineering boundaries are usually defined by voltage levels, corresponding to different standard systems and typical structural forms.

Low-voltage switchgear generally refers to low-voltage switchgear assemblies with a rated voltage not exceeding 1000V (such as MNS/Blokset type, MDB/PCC, etc.), with the IEC 61439 series as the primary standard system.

The strength of the switchgear market depends on the "intensity of power investment." Grid expansion and upgrades, renewable energy grid integration, industrial electrification, and high-load scenarios such as data centers are all driving up demand for low-voltage equipment.

In terms of demand structure, low-voltage switchgear benefits more directly: Data center electricity consumption is projected to increase to approximately 945 TWh by 2030 under the IEA baseline scenario (a significant increase compared to 2024). The expansion of power receiving and distribution capacity in data center parks will continue to drive upgrades in MV/LV switchgear, ring main units, and protection and monitoring systems. Meanwhile, the supply side remains constrained by "long delivery times" in some regions: Significantly longer delivery cycles and a surge in capacity investment are observed in the US for key power equipment such as transformers and high-voltage equipment, reflecting a tight capacity balance and expansion window across the entire power equipment chain.

Technology and compliance trends are reshaping the barriers to entry for competition: on the one hand, internal arc protection, online status monitoring, digital operation and maintenance, and modular cabinets are becoming the "entry requirements" for data centers and high-reliability industries; on the other hand, the European F-gas Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2024/573) sets phased restrictions on newly installed SF₆ switchgear (for example, covering some ≤24kV medium voltage applications from 2026, and subsequently expanding to higher voltage levels), promoting the accelerated commercialization of "SF₆-free" and alternative media solutions.
