Scope of the Report

The global Large Submerged Arc Furnace market size is predicted to grow from US$ 5,405 million in 2025 to US$ 8,373 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.7% from 2026 to 2032.

Large submerged arc furnaces are core equipment in the metallurgical industry used for the reduction smelting of ores. They are primarily used to produce ferroalloys such as ferrosilicon, ferromanganese, and ferrochrome, as well as chemical raw materials like calcium carbide, forming a crucial link in the production process of these important industrial raw materials. Their working principle is based on resistance arc melting. During operation, electrodes are inserted into the furnace charge for submerged arc melting. When energized, energy is released in two forms: arc heat generated between the electrodes and the furnace charge, and resistance heat generated when current flows through the resistance of the furnace charge. These two types of heat work together to heat the furnace charge to a molten state, and then, through a carbonaceous reducing agent, reduce the metal oxides in the ore, ultimately achieving the separation of the metal from the slag.

Structurally, a submerged arc furnace mainly consists of a furnace body, an electrode system, and a power supply system. The furnace body is constructed from a furnace shell and a refractory lining to withstand high temperatures and material erosion; large furnaces typically use self-baking electrodes that are sintered during the smelting process; the power supply system relies on the submerged arc furnace transformer to provide a stable, high-current supply.

In 2025, global Large Submerged Arc Furnace sales reached 88,407 Units, with an average global market price of around 62,500 K USD/Unit. Production capacity reached 100,000 Units, with a gross profit margin of approximately 30%.

Global key Large Submerged Arc Furnace players cover Tenova, SMS Group, Primetals Technologies, Danieli, Posco SNNC, etc.
