Scope of the Report

The global Liquid Polybutadiene Rubber market size is predicted to grow from US$ 2,237 million in 2025 to US$ 3,454 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.4% from 2026 to 2032.

Liquid Polybutadiene Rubber (LPBR) is a low-molecular-weight, liquid-form synthetic rubber produced mainly through the polymerization of 1,3-butadiene, offering excellent flexibility, low-temperature performance, chemical resistance, electrical insulation, and reactive terminal groups for crosslinking applications. It is widely used as a toughening agent, binder, sealant modifier, adhesive additive, coating resin intermediate, rocket propellant binder, tire compound additive, and encapsulation material in automotive, aerospace, electronics, construction, and industrial sectors. The supply chain of LPBR begins upstream with petrochemical feedstocks such as butadiene derived from steam cracking of naphtha or ethane, along with catalysts including lithium-based, cobalt-based, or neodymium-based catalyst systems and specialty solvents. Midstream production involves solution polymerization, molecular weight control, hydrogenation or functionalization processes, purification, blending, and packaging by synthetic rubber and specialty chemical manufacturers. Downstream, LPBR is formulated into adhesives, sealants, coatings, composite materials, polyurethane systems, energetic materials, rubber compounds, and electronic encapsulants, before being supplied to end-user industries such as automotive manufacturing, aerospace & defense, electronics, industrial equipment, infrastructure construction, and renewable energy systems. In 2025, global Liquid Polybutadiene Rubber output was about 800,000 tons with 950,000 tons tons of capacity, average prices of USD 2,500–4,000 per ton, and gross margins around 25%.

Global key Liquid Polybutadiene Rubber players cover Cray Valley (France), Versalis (Italy), Idemitsu Kosan (Japan), Kuraray (Japan), Evonik (Germany), etc.
