Scope of the Report

The global Low-OH Synthetic Fused Silica market size is predicted to grow from US$ 342 million in 2025 to US$ 507 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.8% from 2026 to 2032.

In 2025, global sales volume of Low-OH Synthetic Fused Silica was approximately 2,500 tons, with an average global market price of about USD 140/kg. The gross margin of major manufacturers in the industry was approximately 40%-55%.

Low-OH Synthetic Fused Silica is a type of low-hydroxyl or anhydrous synthetic quartz glass material mainly composed of high-purity silicon dioxide. It is typically produced from high-purity silicon tetrachloride and other silicon sources through gas-phase deposition-dehydroxylation vitrification, flame hydrolysis-dehydroxylation melting, and other processes. Its core feature is the low Si-OH content in the quartz glass structure, which helps reduce hydroxyl absorption in the near-infrared and mid-infrared bands. The material also features high purity, low impurity content, good thermal stability, high transmittance, and excellent optical homogeneity. Compared with hydrous/high-OH synthetic quartz material, Low-OH Synthetic Fused Silica is more suitable for semiconductors, optoelectronics, aerospace, medical, and other high-end optical applications that require infrared transmittance, high-temperature stability, and low water content.

Its upstream mainly includes high-purity silicon tetrachloride, high-purity oxygen, hydrogen, chlorine or other dehydroxylation process gases, high-purity gas supply systems, deposition furnaces, melting furnaces, sintering furnaces, annealing furnaces, and optical inspection equipment. The midstream consists of synthetic quartz material manufacturers that conduct high-purity silicon source conversion, gas-phase deposition, dehydroxylation treatment, sintering vitrification, melting and forming, annealing, cutting, grinding, polishing, and inspection to produce quartz ingots, plates, tubes, rods, substrates, and optical blanks. Downstream applications mainly include semiconductors, optoelectronics, aerospace, medical, and other fields.

Global key Low-OH Synthetic Fused Silica players cover Corning, AGC, Ohara Quartz, Tosoh SGM, Shin-Etsu Chemical, etc.
