Scope of the Report
The global Mold Cure Tire Retreading market size is predicted to grow from US$ 510 million in 2025 to US$ 639 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.3% from 2026 to 2032.
Mold Cure Tire Retreading refers to a remanufacturing process that uses a reusable tire carcass that has been inspected, polished, and repaired as a base. Uncured rubber is added to the tread area, and the tire is placed in a rigid mold with a specific tread pattern and heated for vulcanization. This allows the new tread and the old carcass to re-bond, forming a reusable tire. This process is also called hot retreading or mold vulcanization retreading. Its process is similar to that of new tire vulcanization manufacturing, resulting in better appearance consistency, tread pattern forming precision, and overall integrity. It is used in truck and bus tires, and light truck/SUV tires. The upstream of the industry chain mainly includes retreadable tire bodies, natural rubber, synthetic rubber, carbon black, steel wire, vulcanizing agents, accelerators, antioxidants, tread compounds, rubber formulations, testing equipment, grinding equipment, extrusion equipment, molds, and vulcanizing presses; the midstream involves tire body testing, grinding, repair, rubber coating, compression molding, dynamic balancing, and final inspection; the downstream mainly serves logistics fleets, bus companies, and freight and cold chain enterprises. Gross profit margins range from approximately 20% to 35%.
Globally, the Asia-Pacific region is the largest demand area, driven by demand from logistics fleets and public transportation systems in China, India, and Southeast Asia. North America has a mature commercial vehicle retreading system, with large fleets heavily reliant on retreaded tires. Europe is primarily driven by environmental regulations, the circular economy, and high-end brand retreading systems. Latin America, particularly in Brazil and Mexico, is driven by the increasing number of commercial vehicles and cost-sensitive logistics demands. Overall, molded retreaded tires represent an important sub-market within tire recycling and cost reduction for commercial vehicle fleets. Short-term growth is mainly driven by logistics and transportation cost pressures, a well-developed high-quality tire recycling system, and the expansion of authorized retreading networks by tire companies. In the medium to long term, it benefits from carbon reduction, resource recycling, increased commercial vehicle ownership, and advancements in tire testing technology. However, its development still faces limitations such as competition from low-priced new tires, unstable quality of retreadable tires, high investment in mold specifications, and insufficient consumer awareness of the safety of retreaded tires in some regions.
