Vue d'ensemble

Scope of the Report

The tower is an important part of onshore wind power generation equipment. Its main function is to support the wind power generation unit while absorbing the instability caused by the vibration of the unit; the pile foundation is one of the important components of offshore wind power, mainly used for subsea support and wind power machine support. The tower can generally account for 14% of the total cost of the Landwind, while the pile foundation can account for 13% of the total cost of the Seabreeze, which shows its importance in the construction of the complete machine. The tower tube/pile foundation industry has certain entry barriers, and it is difficult for new competitors to enter the market. For tower companies, their core competitive advantages are mainly reflected in two points:

First, product quality. The tower is operated in the field all the year round, facing a relatively harsh external environment, and the operation risk is relatively high, and the reliable service life needs to be maintained at more than 20 years, which requires high product quality. In terms of technology, flange connections, welding seams, misalignment control, and anti-corrosion all have higher requirements, while offshore wind power has higher requirements for anti-corrosion, anti-corrosion, and salt spray protection of pile foundations and towers.

Second, the ability to perform contracts. The company can effectively coordinate the supply chain, produce efficiently, and ensure that the products can be fulfilled on time.

At present, the global wind power industry has formed three major wind power markets in Asia, Europe and the United States. Representatives from Asia, led by Japan, India, China and Southeast Asia, have surpassed in scale through development in recent years, and China has become the country with the largest installed capacity in the world. As far as the current situation is concerned, most of the core technologies are still in the hands of industry leaders in Europe and the United States. However, due to the global trend of large-scale wind power, and the high cost of raw materials and labor in Europe and the United States, China"s wind power industry has a strong advantage in terms of cost, which is also one of the necessary factors to promote China"s wind power industry to go overseas.

The pricing model of wind power tower pile foundation is based on the cost plus processing fee. From the financial reports of most industry participants, it can be seen that their product cost accounts for more than 80% of raw materials, and the tower pile foundation is an important part of the industry chain. It is a rare industry with the ability to "negotiate prices upstream and follow prices downstream". Therefore, when the trend of large-scale industry comes, it will have little impact on tower pile foundations and relatively stable profitability.

In the future, the concentration of the industry is expected to further increase, the top tower manufacturers will accelerate their expansion, and the competition pattern will move closer to the top.
