Scope of the Report
A methanol dual-fuel ship is a ship that uses both methanol and traditional fuels such as diesel or heavy oil as fuel. They typically run on methanol as the primary fuel and switch to conventional fuels when needed to meet the energy needs of the ship"s operations. Compared with traditional fuels, methanol has lower greenhouse gas emissions and higher energy efficiency, so in recent years, more and more ships have begun to adopt methanol dual fuel technology. The engines of methanol dual-fuel ships need to be modified to adapt to the use of methanol, which includes replacing fuel injectors, optimizing combustion chambers and fuel systems, etc. Although these retrofits increase costs, these costs can be paid off over the useful life of methanol due to its low cost and environmental friendliness.
Global key Methanol Dual Fuel Ship players cover HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, Samsung Heavy Industries, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, etc.
