Vue d'ensemble
Scope of the Report
The global Anhydrous Crystalline Glucose market size is predicted to grow from US$ 952 million in 2025 to US$ 1,174 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 2.9% from 2026 to 2032.
In 2025, global sales of anhydrous crystalline glucose reached 1,476,000 tons, with an average price of $659 per ton.
Anhydrous crystalline glucose refers to α-D-glucose crystals (C₆H₁₂O₆, molecular weight 180.16) that are free of crystallization, obtained from starchy raw materials (mainly corn starch) through liquid saccharification, refining, and then crystallization by high-temperature evaporation (>70°C) or spray drying. It has a moisture content ≤1.0% (typically 0.1-0.5%), a melting point of 146-150°C, and significantly higher hygroscopicity than its monohydrate counterpart, making it particularly suitable for applications sensitive to moisture or requiring high-temperature processing.
Anhydrous crystalline glucose uses essentially the same raw materials as its monohydrate counterpart, primarily corn starch (accounting for 70-80% of the total cost). It can be prepared through direct high-temperature crystallization (>70°C) or by converting monohydrate glucose into crystals. Excipients include α-amylase, saccharifying enzyme, activated carbon, and ion exchange resin. However, the production process is significantly more energy-intensive, requiring high-temperature evaporation crystallization (70-80°C) or spray drying (120-150°C) to remove all water of crystallization, resulting in a 20-30% increase in steam and electricity consumption compared to monohydrate. In terms of cost structure, due to the complex dehydration process and the stricter purity (≥99.8%) and bacterial endotoxin control (<0.25 EU/g) requirements for pharmaceutical-grade products, energy costs account for 12-15% (higher than the 8-10% of monohydrate). Refining and testing costs also increase accordingly, leading to a typical 10-20% premium in market price for anhydrous glucose compared to monohydrate. This gives it an irreplaceable cost advantage in high-end pharmaceutical fields such as injections and lyophilized formulations.
Global key Anhydrous Crystalline Glucose players cover Cargill, ADM, Ingredion, Tereos, Roquette, etc.

All MarketResearchReports.com strategic research reports follow a rigorous, multi-stage methodology combining AI-assisted data synthesis with expert analyst validation.
Systematic collection from 500+ verified sources including SEC filings, industry databases (Bloomberg, Statista, OECD), regulatory filings, trade publications, patent databases, and company annual reports. AI-assisted extraction identifies relevant data points across 10,000+ documents per report.
Dual-validation approach: bottom-up sizing aggregates segment-level production, consumption, and trade data; top-down sizing cross-validates against macroeconomic indicators and total addressable market estimates. Discrepancies >5% trigger analyst review.
Company profiles built from public financial disclosures, product launches, M&A activity, job postings (as capability proxies), and supply chain mapping. Market share estimates triangulated across revenue, capacity, and shipment data.
CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.
All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
On-demand reports are generated at time of purchase, incorporating the most recent available data. Static reports are republished when underlying market conditions shift by >10% from baseline assumptions. Purchasers receive update notifications for 12 months.
