Vue d'ensemble
Scope of the Report
The global Nd-Fe-B Magnet market size is predicted to grow from US$ 13,660 million in 2025 to US$ 23,151 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.5% from 2026 to 2032.
In 2025, global sales of NdFeB magnets reached 315,000 tons, with an average price of US$44,265 per ton.
NdFeB rare earth permanent magnets are third-generation rare earth permanent magnet materials. They are intermetallic compounds composed of neodymium (Nd), iron (Fe), boron (B), and trace amounts of rare earth elements (praseodymium, dysprosium, terbium, etc.). They possess extremely high magnetic energy product (35-55 MGOe) and coercivity, earning them the title of "King of Magnets" or "King of Modern Permanent Magnets." They are the highest-performing, most widely produced, and most widely used permanent magnet material in industrial production to date. Since their successful development in the early 1980s, their superior performance and relatively low cost have allowed them to replace first- and second-generation samarium-cobalt permanent magnets, becoming the largest consumer sector among new rare earth materials.
The raw materials for neodymium iron boron rare earth permanent magnets mainly include praseodymium-neodymium alloy (light rare earth, accounting for over 60% of raw material costs), pure iron (industrial pure iron, accounting for 15-20%), ferroboron alloy (approximately 2-3%), and heavy rare earth elements such as dysprosium and terbium (used in high-performance products, accounting for 10-30%). In terms of cost structure, direct material costs account for 60-80% of the production costs of processing enterprises. Fluctuations in rare earth metal prices have a significant impact on costs—for example, a 20% increase in praseodymium-neodymium metal prices can reduce gross profit margins by approximately 6.67%. Due to China's total volume control and quota management for rare earth mining, and the export controls on medium and heavy rare earths such as dysprosium and terbium to be implemented in 2025, the supply of raw materials is tightening, providing strong cost support. Leading companies like Zhongke Sanhuan and Jinli Permanent Magnet are mitigating cost pressures by extending upstream (investing in rare earth separation companies), signing long-term contracts, and optimizing grain boundary diffusion processes (reducing heavy rare earth usage by over 50%). High-performance products, due to their high technological barriers and long certification cycles, have relatively stronger bargaining power and can partially pass on rising raw material costs.

Research Methodology
All MarketResearchReports.com strategic research reports follow a rigorous, multi-stage methodology combining AI-assisted data synthesis with expert analyst validation.
Systematic collection from 500+ verified sources including SEC filings, industry databases (Bloomberg, Statista, OECD), regulatory filings, trade publications, patent databases, and company annual reports. AI-assisted extraction identifies relevant data points across 10,000+ documents per report.
Dual-validation approach: bottom-up sizing aggregates segment-level production, consumption, and trade data; top-down sizing cross-validates against macroeconomic indicators and total addressable market estimates. Discrepancies >5% trigger analyst review.
Company profiles built from public financial disclosures, product launches, M&A activity, job postings (as capability proxies), and supply chain mapping. Market share estimates triangulated across revenue, capacity, and shipment data.
CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.
All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
On-demand reports are generated at time of purchase, incorporating the most recent available data. Static reports are republished when underlying market conditions shift by >10% from baseline assumptions. Purchasers receive update notifications for 12 months.
