Vue d'ensemble
Scope of the Report
The global 7xxx Series Aluminum Alloy market size is predicted to grow from US$ 976 million in 2025 to US$ 1,757 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.9% from 2026 to 2032.
7xxx Series aluminum alloys, with zinc as the main alloying element, are divided into Al-Zn-Mg alloys and Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys. Al-Zn-Mg alloys are heat-treatable, exhibiting good hot deformation properties, good weldability, and generally good corrosion resistance. Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys have higher strength than 2-series aluminum alloys and are generally referred to as ultra-high-strength aluminum alloys, but have lower ductility and high-temperature strength. They offer good corrosion resistance, high toughness, and are easy to process. The 7-series series has excellent overall performance and is widely used in aerospace. In 2024, global production of 7-series aluminum alloys reached 217,500 tons, with an average selling price of US$4,225.35 per ton and a gross profit margin of approximately 24.6%-38%. The company's annual production is 100,000 tons. Downstream customers include Boeing, NIO, Li Auto, BMW, Volkswagen, GM, and Mercedes-Benz.
Aluminum alloys are alloys composed of aluminum as the base material, with added elements such as copper, zinc, manganese, magnesium, and silicon. They possess excellent properties: low density, high specific strength, good electrical and thermal conductivity, excellent corrosion resistance, good machinability, and the ability to withstand significant impact loads. Aluminum alloys are widely used in construction, automobiles, shipbuilding, aerospace, machinery manufacturing, and packaging. In construction, aluminum materials are mainly used for building frames, roof and wall cladding, skeletons, doors and windows, ceilings, finishes, sunshades, etc., as well as for the span structures and railroad bridges, overpasses, and construction scaffolding, treads, and precast concrete formwork. In rail transit vehicles, aluminum alloys are mainly used for the car body structure; significant amounts are also used in interior trim panels, doors and windows, seats, water tanks, and pipes. Ships use aluminum alloys for hulls, superstructures, various facilities, and pipelines. Aluminum alloys are commonly used as the main structural material in aircraft, for beams, skeletons, fuselage skin, wing boxes, stabilizers, engine mounts, elevators, and main rudders. Aluminum alloys are the main structural materials for launch vehicles, primarily used in propellant tanks, tail sections, interstage sections, and interstage sections. Aluminum sheets, foils, and wires are used to manufacture household packaging materials, flexible packaging, food containers, bottle caps, hoses, beverage cans, and food cans. Aluminum alloys can be processed into bars, profiles, wires, strips, tubes, plates, strips, foils, etc., and can also be processed into castings, die-cast parts, etc. Wrought aluminum alloys are produced by forging, rolling, extrusion, and other processes after casting ingots; they are classified according to their main elements as: industrial pure aluminum (1 series), Al-Cu alloys (2 series), Al-Mn alloys (3 series), Al-Si alloys (4 series), Al-Mg alloys (5 series), Al-Mg-Si alloys (6 series), and Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys (7 series). The market prospects of 7 series aluminum alloy are increasing due to its lightweight, high strength, and corrosion-resistant properties. These properties make it an ideal choice in various industries such as aerospace, automotive, and transportation, which are looking for materials that can improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. With the growing demand for sustainable materials and the development of advanced manufacturing technologies, it is expected that the market for 7 series aluminum alloy will continue to grow in the coming years.
