Inactive yeast is inert yeast or inactivated yeast, which is inactivated by heating or pH changes. At the same time, the endogenous enzymes of the yeast autolyse without adding any antibiotics. Inactive yeast contains cell walls, zymosan (especially glycoproteins such as mannoproteins), minerals, trace elements, sterols, unsaturated fatty acids, glutathione, etc. Inactive yeasts have good effects in the activation of active dry yeast, alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation and later aging of wine.
Inactive edible yeast is a nutrient-rich food supplement made from cultured, inactivated and dried Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Unlike active yeast, this yeast powder does not trigger fermentation reactions and retains certain nutritional value and flavor properties, so it is a green and safe food that does not irritate the gastrointestinal tract. The inactive edible yeast produced by our company is a light yellow powder product with a natural yeast flavor. In 2025, global Inactive Edible Yeast production reached approximately 83.85 K MT, with an average global market price of around US$ 8,654 per MT.The annual production capacity of inactive edible yeast is 120,000 tons, with a gross profit margin of about 25%.
Upstream raw materials: molasses, glucose syrup, starch sugar, nitrogen and phosphorus sources, trace elements and vitamins, process water.
Upstream auxiliary materials and supporting materials: defoaming agents, filter aids, cleaning and disinfection chemicals, etc.
Downstream applications: food ingredients and flavoring, baking and cereal products, plant-based foods, health foods and nutritional fortification, catering and prepared dish systems.
The raw material cost is 65%, the manufacturing cost is 25%, and the labor cost is 10%.

Systematic collection from 500+ verified sources including SEC filings, industry databases (Bloomberg, Statista, OECD), regulatory filings, trade publications, patent databases, and company annual reports. AI-assisted extraction identifies relevant data points across 10,000+ documents per report.
Dual-validation approach: bottom-up sizing aggregates segment-level production, consumption, and trade data; top-down sizing cross-validates against macroeconomic indicators and total addressable market estimates. Discrepancies >5% trigger analyst review.
Company profiles built from public financial disclosures, product launches, M&A activity, job postings (as capability proxies), and supply chain mapping. Market share estimates triangulated across revenue, capacity, and shipment data.
CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.
All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
