Scope of the Report

The global Microgrid Energy Storage market size is predicted to grow from US$ 332 million in 2025 to US$ 622 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.5% from 2026 to 2032.

Microgrid is a low-voltage network composed of distributed energy sources, energy storage devices and controllable loads. Its capacity ranges from hundreds of kilowatts to several megawatts. It can operate in parallel with the distribution network and can be disconnected when the upper-level power grid fails. The network operates independently and can be reconnected to the grid after fault recovery. A microgrid is a discrete energy system that provides electric power for a specific region or facility by integrating with distributed energy resources (e.g., solar and wind power) and ESS. Microgrid energy storage refers to the energy storage system (ESS) applied to microgrids. ESS can store electrical energy to provide power demand systems when needed. Its main function is to improve the reliability of the microgrid system, balance power supply and demand, control system power quality, extend equipment life, and reduce construction and operating costs.

Global key players of Microgrid Energy Storage include Samsung SDI, Panasonic, LG Energy Solution Ltd, Hitachi, Toshiba, etc. The top five players hold a share over 50%. North America is the largest market, and has a share about 40%, followed by China with share 20%. In terms of product type, Lithium-ion Battery is the largest segment, occupied for a share of 88%. In terms of application, Utility & Residential has a share about 67 percent.
