Vue d'ensemble
Scope of the Report
The global Sterile Urinary Catheters market size is predicted to grow from US$ 3,205 million in 2025 to US$ 4,766 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.4% from 2026 to 2032.
Sterile urinary catheters are urine-drainage and bladder-management catheters supplied in sterile packaging after ethylene oxide sterilization, irradiation or other validated sterilization processes. They typically include intermittent catheters, indwelling Foley catheters, hydrophilic-coated catheters, pre-lubricated catheters and certain antimicrobial or anti-infection catheters. These products are usually made from medical-grade latex, silicone, PVC, TPU or similar biocompatible materials and are used in operating rooms, ICUs, urology departments, rehabilitation care, long-term care facilities and home-based self-catheterization. In 2025, Global sterile urinary catheters sales are estimated at about 6,300 million units, with an average ex-works price of around 0.52 US$/Unit. The value chain includes upstream medical PVC, silicone, latex, TPU, hydrophilic coatings, lubricants, sterile packaging and catheter connectors; midstream catheter and catheter-kit manufacturers; and downstream users including hospitals, urology departments, ICUs, operating rooms, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers and home-care channels.
The sterile urinary catheter market is driven by population aging, rising surgical volumes, increasing prevalence of urological disorders, prostate diseases, spinal cord injury and neurogenic bladder, as well as expanding demand for long-term care and home-based bladder management. Hospitals require sterile catheters for perioperative care, ICUs, emergency departments and urology settings, while out-of-hospital use is supported by growing acceptance of self-intermittent catheterization and demand for hydrophilic-coated, pre-lubricated, no-touch and portable-packaging products. Infection control is another major driver, as healthcare providers place greater emphasis on preventing catheter-associated urinary tract infections, supporting the shift toward sterile, single-use, low-friction and antimicrobial products. At the same time, CAUTI prevention guidance encourages avoiding unnecessary catheterization and removing catheters as soon as possible, so growth is more likely to come from safer, more comfortable and long-term home-care products rather than simple expansion of inpatient catheter use.
