Scope of the Report

The global Phellandrene market size is predicted to grow from US$ 180 million in 2025 to US$ 272 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.1% from 2026 to 2032.

Phellandrene is a naturally occurring cyclic monoterpene found in the essential oils of plants such as eucalyptus, peppermint, dill, ginger, fennel, and certain conifer species, valued for its fresh citrusy, minty, and peppery aroma. It is mainly used in fragrances, flavors, personal care products, cleaning chemicals, aromatherapy, and as an intermediate in terpene-based chemical synthesis. The supply chain of Phellandrene begins upstream with the cultivation and harvesting of aromatic plants and forestry resources, followed by essential oil extraction through steam distillation, cold pressing, or solvent extraction. Midstream activities include terpene separation, purification, concentration, blending, and quality testing performed by essential oil processors, aroma chemical manufacturers, and specialty chemical companies. Downstream, purified Phellandrene is supplied to fragrance and flavor houses, cosmetics manufacturers, food and beverage companies, pharmaceutical formulators, household care product producers, and industrial chemical manufacturers for incorporation into perfumes, food flavorings, wellness products, detergents, and specialty chemical formulations. In 2025, global Phellandrene output was about 60,000 tons with 80,000 tons of capacity, average prices of USD 2,500–5,200 per ton, and gross margins around 30%.

Global key Phellandrene players cover Takasago (Japan), Robertet (France), Yasuhara Chemical (Japan), Arakawa Chemical (Japan), Kraton (USA), etc.
