Vue d'ensemble
Scope of the Report
The global Food Cling Film market size is predicted to grow from US$ 3,529 million in 2025 to US$ 4,581 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.8% from 2026 to 2032.
Food cling film refers to a type of film packaging material used for covering, wrapping, refrigerating, freezing, short-term storage, and displaying fresh food. It usually needs to meet food contact safety requirements. Common materials include PE, PVC, PVDC, etc. PE cling film is mainly used for household kitchens and general food packaging, PVC cling film is more commonly used for supermarket fresh food, catering large roll film, and tray covering packaging, PVDC and high resistance film are suitable for high preservation requirements scenarios such as meat, cooked food, and refrigerated food, and biodegradable cling film is mainly aimed at environmentally friendly food packaging. In 2025, global Food Cling Film production reached approximately 1,217 K MT, with an average global market price of around US$ 2,964 per MT.
Food cling film belongs to a mature category of food packaging materials with high consumption frequency and stable demand. Its growth mainly comes from the demand for household food storage, standardized packaging of fresh food in supermarkets, expansion of catering takeout and central kitchens, increased circulation of cold chain food, and increased consumption of pre packaged and ready to eat food. In terms of material structure, PE cling film continues to increase in its proportion in household and general food packaging due to its good food contact safety, flexibility, and universal adaptability. PVC cling film still has strong demand in supermarket fruit and vegetable, meat trays, and catering large roll films due to its adhesive properties, transparency, and cost advantages. However, the safety and environmental pressure of plasticizers will limit long-term growth. PVDC and high barrier film are suitable for food scenarios with higher barrier and longer preservation requirements. Although their unit price is high, their usage is relatively limited. Biodegradable cling film is driven by environmental policies, brand plastic reduction commitments, and consumer environmental awareness, and its penetration rate is expected to increase in the future. However, in the short term, it is still constrained by cost, strength, transparency, and preservation performance. The focus of competition will be on non plasticizing, anti fog performance, freeze resistance, microwave adaptation, lightweight, biodegradable materials, stable supply of commercial large roll films, and food contact compliance certification. Enterprises with resin formulation capabilities, automated film production capabilities, food grade safety certification, and channel coverage capabilities are more likely to obtain stable orders.
