Vue d'ensemble
Scope of the Report
The global Nickel Oxyhydroxide market size is predicted to grow from US$ 835 million in 2025 to US$ 1,334 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.0% from 2026 to 2032.
Nickel oxyhydroxide is a transition metal oxyhydroxide compound typically formed by the electrochemical oxidation of nickel hydroxide (Ni(OH)₂), widely used as an active material in alkaline batteries (such as NiMH and Ni–Cd), supercapacitors, and electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reactions (OER). Its supply chain begins upstream with nickel resources (primarily laterite and sulfide ores) mined and refined into high-purity nickel salts (e.g., nickel sulfate or nickel nitrate), followed by chemical precipitation to produce nickel hydroxide precursors. In the midstream, these precursors undergo controlled oxidation—either chemically or electrochemically—to form β-NiOOH or γ-NiOOH phases, often with doping (e.g., cobalt, aluminum) to enhance conductivity and cycling stability. Downstream processing includes material conditioning (particle size control, coating, electrode slurry formulation) and integration into battery electrodes or catalytic systems. The end supply chain serves industries such as energy storage (rechargeable batteries), renewable energy (water electrolysis), and electronics, with key participants including mining companies, chemical producers, battery material manufacturers, and device integrators. In 2025, global Nickel Oxyhydroxide output was about 220,000 tons with 300,000 tons of capacity, average prices of USD 3,500 – 7,000 per ton, and gross margins around 29%.
Global key Nickel Oxyhydroxide players cover Sasol (South Africa), TOR Minerals (USA), Blue Grass Chemical (USA), Nabaltec (Germany), Dequachim (Belgium), etc.

Systematic collection from 500+ verified sources including SEC filings, industry databases (Bloomberg, Statista, OECD), regulatory filings, trade publications, patent databases, and company annual reports. AI-assisted extraction identifies relevant data points across 10,000+ documents per report.
Dual-validation approach: bottom-up sizing aggregates segment-level production, consumption, and trade data; top-down sizing cross-validates against macroeconomic indicators and total addressable market estimates. Discrepancies >5% trigger analyst review.
Company profiles built from public financial disclosures, product launches, M&A activity, job postings (as capability proxies), and supply chain mapping. Market share estimates triangulated across revenue, capacity, and shipment data.
CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.
All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
On-demand reports are generated at time of purchase, incorporating the most recent available data. Static reports are republished when underlying market conditions shift by >10% from baseline assumptions. Purchasers receive update notifications for 12 months.
