Scope of the Report

Millimeter wave radar is a high-precision sensor that measures the relative distance, speed, and orientation of a measured object. It was used in the military field in the early days. With the development and progress of radar technology, millimeter wave radar sensors began to be used in automotive electronics, drones, intelligent transportation and many other fields. Currently, various countries allocate different frequency bands to vehicle-mounted millimeter wave radars, but they are mainly concentrated in 24GHz and 77GHz. A few countries (such as Japan) use the 60GHz frequency band. Due to the many advantages of 77G over 24G, the frequency band of global automotive millimeter wave radars will converge to the 77GHz frequency band (76-81GHz) in the future. Millimeter wave radar chips are mainly MMIC chips. The full name of MMIC radio frequency chip is monolithic microwave integrated circuit, which is a chip containing multiple functional circuits and is mainly responsible for the modulation, transmission and reception of millimeter wave signals and the demodulation of echo signals.

Global key 24/77GHz mmWave Radar IC players cover NXP Semiconductors, Texas Instruments, STMicroelectronics, Infineon, Uhnder, etc.
