概観
Scope of the Report
The global Phase Change Thermal Material market size is predicted to grow from US$ 1,125 million in 2025 to US$ 2,437 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 11.3% from 2026 to 2032.
Phase Change Thermal Interface Materials are high-performance thermal interface materials designed to combine the handling advantages of a solid or semi-solid material at room temperature with the wetting and gap-filling capability of a softened or flowable material at operating temperature. They are used to fill microscopic gaps between heat-generating components and heat spreaders, heat sinks, cold plates, vapor chambers, metal housings or package lids, thereby reducing interfacial thermal resistance and improving heat dissipation efficiency. These materials are typically supplied as pads, films, preforms, dispensable or printable compounds, or phase-change metal alloy TIMs. When the device reaches the material’s phase-change or softening temperature, the material softens, melts or flows to wet the contact surfaces, displace trapped air and form a thin, stable bondline. Common material systems include polymer-based, silicone-based, wax-based, filled composite and metal alloy phase-change TIMs. Key applications include CPUs, GPUs, AI servers, power modules, IGBTs, inverters, telecom equipment, automotive electronics, optical modules and high-power industrial electronics.
Based on our research, phase change thermal interface materials represent a high-performance segment within the TIM market, positioned between thermal grease and conventional thermal pads. Their core value lies in their solid form at room temperature, which enables convenient assembly, and their ability to soften and wet the interface at operating temperature. This allows them to achieve lower contact thermal resistance than ordinary pads, while offering better thickness consistency, processability, and pump-out resistance than thermal grease. As the power density of CPUs, GPUs, AI accelerators, power modules, and automotive electronics continues to rise, thermal interfaces are no longer merely auxiliary materials; they have become important design variables affecting system reliability, noise, power consumption, and long-term performance stability. High-end servers, supercomputing systems, AI accelerator cards, inverters, and IGBT modules are currently the most important growth scenarios for phase change TIMs. From the supply-side structure, the global market is composed of a small number of international materials giants, specialized thermal management material suppliers, and Chinese domestic thermal material companies. Honeywell, Henkel, Parker Chomerics, Laird, Shin-Etsu, Indium, and other suppliers have advantages in material systems, customer qualification, global supply chains, and brand recognition, particularly in servers, telecommunications, automotive electronics, and high-reliability industrial electronics. Chinese domestic suppliers mainly enter the market through cost-performance advantages, customized die-cutting, local delivery, and supply chains for consumer electronics, power supplies, and servers. Because PCM TIMs usually need to be validated together with the customer’s device structure, assembly pressure, operating temperature, heat sink surface roughness, and reliability testing, the industry is not driven by simple price competition. From the demand-side structure, AI servers and high-performance computing are becoming one of the most important sources of incremental demand for phase change thermal materials. As the power consumption of GPUs and AI accelerators increases, interface thermal resistance has a greater impact on chip temperature and frequency stability. The shortcomings of traditional thermal grease in long-term reliability and assembly consistency are driving some customers to adopt phase change pads or phase change films. Automotive electronics and power modules place greater emphasis on thermal cycling, vibration, service life, and resistance to material loss, while telecom equipment and optical modules focus more on stable heat dissipation under high-density packaging. Different applications have different requirements for material thickness, softening temperature, thermal conductivity, dielectric properties, outgassing, reliability, and reworkability, giving the PCM TIM market a clear application-specific customization profile. From a technology roadmap perspective, phase change thermal interface materials will continue to evolve toward lower thermal resistance, thinner bondlines, higher thermal-conductivity fillers, lower outgassing, stronger pump-out resistance, better automated placement, and higher reliability. Polymer-based and silicone-based phase change pads remain the mainstream solutions, while metal phase change TIMs have differentiated potential in TIM0 / TIM1 and high-heat-flux applications. However, their large-scale adoption is limited by cost, reworkability, electrical insulation requirements, and process compatibility. The key to future competition will not be nominal material thermal conductivity alone, but actual interface thermal resistance, thermal resistance stability after aging, customer qualification data, supply consistency, and co-design capability with the overall system thermal architecture.

Company profiles built from public financial disclosures, product launches, M&A activity, job postings (as capability proxies), and supply chain mapping. Market share estimates triangulated across revenue, capacity, and shipment data.
CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.
All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
On-demand reports are generated at time of purchase, incorporating the most recent available data. Static reports are republished when underlying market conditions shift by >10% from baseline assumptions. Purchasers receive update notifications for 12 months.
