개요

Scope of the Report

GDTs are electronic devices used for overvoltage protection. They usually consist of two electrodes and a glass or ceramic tube filled with an inert gas. Under normal operating voltage, GDTs are in a high impedance state and have little effect on the circuit. When a voltage exceeding its rated DC breakdown voltage is detected, the gas in the tube ionizes and conducts electricity, thereby directing the overvoltage to the ground line and protecting the circuit from damage. GDTs are ideal for a variety of circuit protection applications due to their fast response time and high current handling capabilities. Their low capacitance characteristics also allow GDTs to have little effect on circuit performance in high-frequency applications, which makes them particularly important in modern precision electronic equipment. As technology develops, the design of GDTs is also constantly improving to meet the needs of higher surge currents and faster response times.

Global key GDTs Overvoltage Protection Devices players cover TDK Corporation, Eaton, Littelfuse, Bourns, Citel Inc, etc.
