Scope of the Report

The global Neutral Borosilicate Glass Injection Vial market size is predicted to grow from US$ 1,891 million in 2025 to US$ 3,693 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10.2% from 2026 to 2032.

Neutral borosilicate glass: The average linear thermal expansion coefficient of medium borosilicate glass is: α=(4-5)×10-6/°C (20-300°C), referred to as 5.0 glass, invented and started production by Schott in Germany in 1889 ( It was named Fiolax at that time), and its composition was SiO266%, B2O37%, Al2O310%, CaO6%, Na2O8%, K2O3%. According to the modern classification standard of B2O3 content, the original Fiolax can only be counted as low borosilicate glass. In 1943, Kimble in the United States invented medium borosilicate glass with a B2O3 content greater than 8%, and then Germany, Japan and other countries successively produced this medium borosilicate glass. This type of glass is widely used in the field of pharmaceutical packaging due to its good material and performance, especially its excellent chemical stability. Neutral borosilicate glass is far superior to low borosilicate glass in terms of water resistance, acid and alkali resistance, freezing resistance, thermal stability, filling speed, etc. There will be no sedimentation in long-term contact with liquid medicine and blood. Injection vials made of neutral borosilicate glass offer additional advantages.

At present, the world"s neutral borosilicate glass is mainly supplied by SCHOTT of Germany, NEG of Nippon Electric Glass, CORNING of the United States and Nipro, which are expensive. International pharmaceutical companies generally choose medium borosilicate glass as the material for injection bottles. Injection bottles made of neutral borosilicate glass have incomparable advantages over injection bottles made of ordinary soda lime glass and low borosilicate glass. With the maturity of the production process of neutral borosilicate glass and the entry of new market players, the market size of injection bottles is expected to continue to grow.
