Overzicht

Scope of the Report

The global Monohydrate Crystalline Glucose market size is predicted to grow from US$ 6,296 million in 2025 to US$ 7,359 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 2.2% from 2026 to 2032.

In 2025, global sales of monohydrate crystalline glucose reached 12.4 million tons, with an average price of US$515 per ton.

Monohydrate crystalline glucose is a white crystalline powder or granules containing one molecule of water of crystallization (C₆H₁₂O₆·H₂O, molecular weight 198.17), produced from starch (mainly corn starch) through liquefaction, saccharification, refining, concentration, and cooling crystallization. It has a moisture content of 7.0–9.5%, a melting point of 146℃, a cool, sweet taste, high water solubility, and hygroscopicity. Its main characteristics distinguish it from anhydrous glucose (which contains no water of crystallization) are its physical stability and storage performance.

Monohydrate crystalline glucose is produced using corn starch as the main raw material (approximately 70-80%). The process involves saccharification using a dual-enzyme method (α-amylase and saccharifying enzyme), decolorization with activated carbon, purification via ion exchange, multi-effect evaporation concentration, and cooling crystallization. Auxiliary materials include enzyme preparations, activated carbon, ion exchange resin, and crystallizing agents. The production process is energy-intensive, requiring significant amounts of steam for evaporation concentration (increasing the solid content from 30% to 70-80%) and a cooling water system for the crystallization process. The cost structure exhibits a significant raw material-driven characteristic: corn starch costs account for 70-80% of the total production cost, energy (water, electricity, steam, and wastewater treatment) accounts for 8-10%, and depreciation, labor, and packaging costs combined account for only 10-15%. This results in a high positive correlation between the product price and the corn market price (correlation coefficient reaching 0.81), meaning fluctuations in raw material prices directly determine the company's profitability.

Global key Monohydrate Crystalline Glucose players cover Cargill, ADM, Ingredion, Tereos, Roquette, etc.
